Looking at the high on Amazon (AMZN) against where we are today reveals some pretty startling figures. The current market cap is sitting at $284.56 billion, down from about $326 billion at the high when Amazon shares hit $696.44 on December 29th. When I first looked at those numbers, I thought it was a few hundred million, but just realized I misplaced the decimal point. That means that 6 trading days into the year that Amazon shareholders have given back more than $41 BILLION. What's even more remarkable about this, is other than a few sharp analysts who thought the price was too high for what you're getting, there has been virtually no meaningful news to report. Earnings is still a good month off. Trading volume has approached numbers 50% higher than their average daily volume. Somebody wanted out real bad. If you're still in, or adding here, I'd like to know your thoughts. What makes you a buyer?
